About Your stay at Sahtlam Lodge and Cabins - Policies and Such

To Keep Sahtlam Lodge and Cabins a relaxing, peaceful place, we limit the number of people in each cabin. Over the years we have designed and committed our business to provide a serene, natural setting for a limited number of guests.

CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT We really try to have our cabins ready for a 2:30 p.m. checkin... You are welcome prior to walk, etc. Check out prior to or promptly at 11a.m. please to facilitate cabin readiness for others. Again you are most welcome to enjoy the property post checkout.
VISITORS: Your cabin is reserved for your prescribed party only. If you are considering having others visit your cabin, discuss your plans with us, and receive approval before arrangements are made with your visitors.
PEACE AND QUIET IS PROMOTED: No amplified music out of doors please. Our sound systems will keep you in music...indoors. Everyone should be able to hear undisturbed the chitter of birds and the sigh of breezes. All quiet after 10:30pm, thks.
TIDY CABIN: It is expected that guests CLEAN and put away cooking and eating utensils. A charge will be levied if this is not done.
PETS: Contemplating bringing a pet? Please read about pets at Sahtlam and discuss with Dave or Val
LIBRARY: At the Lodge you will find a book exchange; a library of local history and maps; a CD library; and reference books on mushrooming, birding and gardening. There are indoor and outdoor games on hand.
The Dining Room is now permanently closed after twenty years of occasional dining.
FOOD SOURCING:
In the Cowichan Valley meats, cheeses, seasonal veggies, wholesome foods and baked items are standard fare. We want you to get to the best of the valley and have links to help you find as many of our sources as are online. Others, like the Saturday morning Farmers Market, are identified by description or address.
SEASONAL:
SPRING: In the Pacific Northwest lots and lots of spring rain keeps us green.
SUMMERTIME: Bring your beach towels, and river shoes, sunscreen, also bugscreen for evening campfires and strolls. Our small beach provides an excellent place to wade and plunge in. Remember you are sharing this area.
FALL: Usual conditions are back to rain, nurturing mushroom blooms and returning salmon
